How to Help Your Lawn Survive An Outdoor Party this Summer

Your lawn is like the face of your home. People see your lawn first before they see the inside of your house. What impression do you want to give them about your home? especially during this summer party season.

Hey Summer!!!

This time of the year is the warmest season and the best time for outdoor activities. People generally take advantage of the high temperature by spending more time outdoors. During summer activities such as travelling to the beach and picnics occur during the summer months. Sports such as soccer, basketball, skateboarding, golf e.t.c are played. Now is the best time to host that fun party you have had on your mind all these while.

Your Lawn and the Party

You definitely want your lawn to keep looking beautiful before and after the party. Here are some tips to protect your lawn during your summer party.

1. Prepare Adequately

You should know that parties can sometimes be messy, so you need to prepare yourself both physically and mentally. Few days to your party, give your lawn a thorough going over; water, weed, fertilise, mow, sweep, do everything to make your lawn look it’s best. Make sure the grass clippings are picked up to give your lawn that prinstine look.

TOP TIP

Avoid mowing and deep watering your lawn few hours to the party as a bit of extra high grass gives extra cushioning to the feet, making it feel comfortable, and extra wet lawns can lead to muddy areas giving your lawn the messy look.

2. Spread the Party Out

You do not want to concentrate on a particular part of your lawn as frequent use of thoes areas can lead to compaction which in turn leads to browning, leaving your lawn looking unattractive. Keep the tables at different parts of the lawn helping your lawn absorb the impact, minimising the chance of compaction.

3. Keep Pets Away

No doubt pets are lovely and can add fun and life to parties, but they can dig holes, exude bad smells and discolour your lawn with their feaces and urine. Reduce these negative effect by keeping them off the lawn during busy times like during your parties.

4. Keep it Clean

Mentally preparing for your lawn also involves putting practices that would help keep your lawn clean into place. Assign someone to pick around every now and then and always take note of spilt drinks as it can affect the pH of your lawn, increasing the chance of damage to your lawn.

When the party is over, go back to the normal routine of taking care of your lawn. Who said you cannot have a great summer party and an awesome looking lawn.
